BA Digital Marketing and Musical Theatre
About this course
Digital marketing and musical theatre is an unconventional combination that pairs one of the most practically dynamic fields in contemporary business with one of the most demanding and exhilarating of the performing arts. Digital marketing addresses how organisations reach, engage and build relationships with their audiences using digital channels, encompassing social media, search, email, content marketing, data analytics and the rapidly evolving landscape of digital platforms. Musical theatre demands the integration of singing, acting and dance in the creation of performance that tells stories and moves audiences with a particular directness and emotional power. At Liverpool Hope University you will develop both a rigorous academic and practical understanding of digital marketing, combining theory with practical application in the modern digital marketplace, alongside a training in musical theatre performance that addresses all three of its disciplines: voice, physical performance and dramatic interpretation. The programme runs full time over three years and includes a sandwich year, a year abroad and work-placement experience, giving you substantial professional and international experience across both fields during your studies. This combination of experiences in marketing and performance creates a distinctive graduate who understands audiences deeply from both commercial and artistic perspectives. You will develop skills in digital marketing strategy, content creation, data analysis and campaign management alongside voice, movement and performance skills, and the professional versatility to work across creative and commercial contexts. Graduates from this combination pursue careers that draw on both skill sets, including marketing and communications roles in arts and entertainment organisations, arts management, digital content creation for cultural industries, performance in musical theatre, and commercial roles in industries that value both creative and analytical thinking. Postgraduate study in either discipline is also an option.
