BSc Business Management with International Business
About this course
Business management with international business takes the core functions of management, including strategy, marketing, operations, finance, and organisational behaviour, and situates them within the context of a globalised economy. Understanding how businesses operate within national markets is essential, but the most significant commercial decisions increasingly involve cross-border trade, international supply chains, foreign direct investment, and the management of organisations that operate across multiple regulatory and cultural environments. Studying these two strands together gives you the comprehensive commercial education that internationally active organisations look for. At Plymouth this three-year full-time degree is structured to develop both your foundational business knowledge and your understanding of international business dynamics. You will develop financial literacy alongside analytical and strategic skills, learning to interpret financial information and apply it to real business decisions. The international business component examines the forces that shape the global business environment, including trade policy, cultural differences in management, currency and political risk, and the strategies that firms use to compete across borders. A sandwich year and a year abroad are built into the programme, and work placement experience is embedded throughout. These features give you the professional context and international perspective that distinguish graduates who have only studied business from those who have lived and worked it. Graduates move into careers in international management, marketing and sales, supply chain management, business analysis, financial services, consultancy, and entrepreneurship. The combination of management depth and international orientation is valued by employers across sectors where cross-border activity is significant. Many graduates also go on to postgraduate study in international business, management, or MBA programmes.
