BA Business Management and Information Technology
About this course
Business management and information technology is a combination that addresses one of the most significant realities of contemporary organisational life: every business of any scale now depends on digital systems, and the ability to manage both the business and the technology that underpins it is a genuinely valuable and increasingly rare combination. Business management provides the strategic, financial, and organisational knowledge that effective leadership requires. Information technology provides the technical understanding of how systems are designed, built, and managed, and how digital tools can be used to improve business processes, customer relationships, and competitive performance. At Liverpool Hope this three-year full-time programme develops both strands in an integrated way, giving you a grounding in business principles, organisational dynamics, and management processes alongside knowledge of information systems, digital technology, data management, and the application of technology to business challenges. You will study how organisations of all types, from SMEs to global multinationals, use technology to operate more effectively and respond to changing market conditions. A sandwich year, a year abroad, and work placement experience are all built into the programme, providing professional experience, international exposure, and a portfolio of practical work alongside your academic studies. Graduates move into careers in IT management, business analysis, systems consulting, digital project management, operations management, e-commerce, and technology-driven roles across virtually every sector. The combination is particularly valued by employers who need graduates who can bridge the gap between technical IT teams and business stakeholders. Many graduates also go on to postgraduate study in information systems, business, or management.
