About this course
Conservation Biology is the scientific study of biodiversity with the aim of protecting species, habitats and ecosystems. In this module students will review biodiversity and its importance. Threats to biodiversity will be critically analysed within the context of sustainability. Global climate change is a significant factor affecting the distribution of the flora and fauna of planet Earth. Maintaining biodiversity with a growing human population must be a priority. Recent research suggests that the Earth is experiencing its sixth mass extinction event in its history and much of this is attributed to habitat degradation arising from human development and overexploitation of the Earthβs resou
