Mathematics with mathematical physics is a combination for students who want to understand both the abstract structures of pure mathematics and the physical laws that describe how the universe behaves, using the language of mathematics to do so. Mathematical physics is the discipline in which the deepest connections between these two fields become visible: the differential geometry that underlies general relativity, the operator algebra that structures quantum mechanics, and the group theory that unifies the fundamental forces of nature.
