BSc Management with Entrepreneurship (Year in Business)
About this course
Management with entrepreneurship is a combination designed for those who want to understand how organisations work and also how to build, innovate, and create new ones. Management provides the strategic, financial, and operational foundations for leading existing organisations effectively. Entrepreneurship adds a more creative and risk-tolerant dimension, concerned with identifying opportunities, developing new ventures, and driving change within or beyond established structures. Together they produce graduates who are both analytically equipped and practically oriented toward creating value. At Royal Holloway, University of London, you will learn from internationally recognised experts who bring current research and professional experience into their teaching, ensuring your management skills and entrepreneurial knowledge are both relevant and rigorous. This four-year programme includes a year in business, giving you direct professional experience inside a real organisation or entrepreneurial venture, and a year abroad that broadens your international perspective and understanding of how management and entrepreneurship differ across cultural and institutional contexts. You will develop specialist knowledge alongside the interpersonal and transferable skills that are central to effective leadership and to building new ventures. Graduates are well placed for management roles within established organisations, entrepreneurial positions in startups and scale-ups, roles in venture capital and business development, and positions in innovation functions within larger companies. The combination of management rigour and entrepreneurial mindset is valued across technology, creative industries, financial services, consulting, social enterprise, and the public sector. Many graduates go on to found their own businesses or pursue postgraduate study in management, entrepreneurship, or an MBA, building on the foundations the degree provides.
