BSc Management with Accounting
About this course
Management with Accounting is a combination that sits at the heart of how organisations understand and improve their performance. Management is the discipline of leading, organising, and operating organisations effectively, drawing on strategy, human resources, marketing, and operations. Accounting provides the financial language in which organisational performance is measured, reported, and analysed, and the analytical tools through which managers understand the financial implications of their decisions. At Royal Holloway, University of London, this three-year full-time programme is taught by internationally recognised researchers who bring current and relevant management and accounting knowledge into the classroom. You will develop both the management and accounting dimensions of the degree, studying organisational strategy and behaviour alongside financial reporting, management accounting, and the use of financial information for decision-making. The programme includes a sandwich placement year, a year abroad, and work placements, giving you direct professional experience in a management or finance context and the opportunity to study in a different country. The combination of management breadth and accounting depth prepares you well for careers in the finance sector as well as in the broader world of organisational management. Graduates are well placed for careers in financial management, audit, business analysis, management consultancy, corporate finance, and general management roles. The accounting element provides a foundation for professional qualification with the major accountancy bodies, which can significantly accelerate your career development in finance. The management element opens paths into strategic and leadership roles across every sector. Postgraduate study in accounting, management, or an MBA is a common route for graduates who wish to develop their expertise further or move into more senior positions.
