Law with French language is a combination that prepares you for legal practice in an international context, pairing rigorous legal training with advanced proficiency in one of the world's most widely used professional languages. Law examines the principles, institutions and processes through which societies regulate behaviour, drawing on both the study of legal doctrine and broader questions of jurisprudence and legal theory. French opens access not only to French domestic law but also to the considerable body of international and European legal work conducted in French, and to the diversity of legal systems in the Francophone world. At the University of Glasgow, which offers Scottish law teaching within a strong research university, this four-year full-time programme develops your legal knowledge alongside advanced French language skills. You will study Scots law, public law, constitutional law and private law alongside French language tuition and engagement with French legal culture, literature and contemporary society.
