BA International Business Management
About this course
International business management examines how organisations operate across national borders, and what it takes to compete and create value in a world where markets, talent, supply chains and customers are increasingly global. It combines the core disciplines of business and management with a specific focus on the international dimensions of commercial activity: cross-border trade, multinational strategy, foreign direct investment, cultural differences in business practice, international finance and the regulatory environments that govern global commerce. At Keele University, this three-year full-time degree takes you to the heart of the global business environment, developing your skills and knowledge across all the key areas of international business. You will study strategy, marketing, finance, operations, human resource management and organisational behaviour alongside international trade theory, global supply chains, cross-cultural management, and the geopolitical and regulatory contexts that shape international business decisions. A sandwich year placement, a year abroad, and a work placement are all available, giving you substantial professional and international experience that directly equips you to operate in global business contexts. The year abroad in particular is one of the most effective ways to develop the cultural intelligence and adaptability that international careers require. You will develop the commercial acumen, analytical skills and intercultural competence that employers in international organisations consistently look for, alongside the communication and leadership capabilities that management careers demand. Graduates from international business management programmes move into multinational corporations, international trade and export, consultancy, banking and finance, marketing, logistics, operations, and management roles across industries with international dimensions. Postgraduate study in international business, management, law or MBA programmes is a well-supported next step.
