About this course

Geography with business management brings together two disciplines that illuminate the same world from very different angles. Geography examines the physical and human processes that shape places, economies, and environments, asking how population, resources, climate, and political power are distributed across the globe and how they interact. Business management provides tools for understanding how organisations function, how markets operate, and how strategic decisions are made in conditions of uncertainty and change. On this three-year full-time degree at the University of Keele, the two are taught together with attention to the ways each enriches the other, and the programme includes a sandwich placement year, a year abroad, and embedded work placement experience. You will develop geographical knowledge across physical and human geography, building skills in data analysis, fieldwork, and independent research alongside an understanding of global economic and environmental systems. Business management modules will introduce you to the key functions of organisations, including strategy, marketing, finance, and operations, with attention to the role that geographical context plays in business decision-making. Keele's emphasis on the relationship between global economies and environments makes this combination particularly well suited to careers in sectors where business and environment meet, from environmental consultancy and sustainable development to international trade and resource management. The placement year and year abroad extend your learning into professional and international settings. An entry tariff of 88 UCAS points reflects an inclusive admissions approach. Graduates move into careers in environmental consultancy, sustainable business, international trade, logistics, public sector management, urban and regional planning, social enterprise, and general business management, as well as continuing to postgraduate study in geography, business, or environmental management.
