Film and media studies combined with marketing brings together a sophisticated understanding of visual culture and communication with the commercial intelligence needed to reach and engage audiences. At the University of Stirling, this four-year full-time programme develops both areas in genuine depth. You will engage critically with film and media theory and history, analysing how media texts construct meaning and how industries are organised and changing under digital pressure. The marketing strand develops your understanding of consumer behaviour, brand strategy, digital marketing, market research, and the management of communications across multiple channels. Together they give you the analytical tools to understand media as culture and the commercial skills to operate within media and communications industries. The programme includes a year abroad, which broadens your international perspective on both media cultures and marketing practices. The typical entry tariff is 184 UCAS points. Graduates go on to careers in digital marketing, advertising, media production, brand management, communications, public relations, film distribution, content strategy, and the creative industries.
