BA Fashion Marketing and Business
About this course
Fashion marketing and business address the commercial and communicative machinery of one of the world's most significant and culturally charged industries. Fashion is not simply about clothing; it is about identity, desire, aspiration and the complex systems through which trends are created, communicated and consumed at global scale. Understanding the fashion industry requires both creative sensitivity and hard commercial thinking, encompassing brand management, digital marketing, retail strategy, supply chain dynamics, consumer behaviour and the economics of creative businesses. At Norwich University of the Arts, which specialises in arts and design education and has strong industry connections, this four-year programme combines marketing and business theory with a genuine understanding of the fashion sector's creative and cultural dimensions. You will study consumer psychology, fashion brand management, digital and social media marketing, retail buying and merchandising, sustainability in fashion, global supply chains and the business models that underpin fashion companies from fast fashion to luxury. The arts university environment means you will work alongside fashion designers and other creative students, developing an understanding of the creative process as well as the business infrastructure that brings fashion products to market. The typical entry tariff is 104 UCAS points. Graduates work in fashion brand management, digital marketing, buying and merchandising, public relations, retail management, e-commerce, editorial, trend forecasting and fashion journalism. The fashion and apparel industry is global and diverse, encompassing luxury houses, high street brands, independent labels, sportswear companies and sustainable fashion start-ups. Many graduates also move into broader creative industries roles in marketing, communications and brand consultancy, where the combination of commercial and cultural literacy that this programme develops is increasingly valued.
