Environmental management and sustainability is the study of how human societies interact with natural systems and how those interactions can be made more responsible, resilient, and fair. The planet's environmental challenges, from climate change and biodiversity loss to pollution, resource depletion, and land degradation, are among the defining issues of the twenty-first century, and the professionals who address them need to understand ecology and environmental science alongside the policy, economic, and social dimensions of sustainable development.
