Early childhood education and care is a field concerned with the holistic development and wellbeing of children from birth through to the early primary years, one of the most critical and formative periods of human development. At Coventry, this two-year Higher Technical Qualification develops you into a professional, self-reflecting practitioner who can meet the demands of employers in the early education and care sector and adapt to a constantly evolving professional landscape. You will develop knowledge of child development theory, early years pedagogy, the statutory frameworks governing early childhood provision in England, safeguarding, and the leadership and communication skills that practitioners need to work effectively with children, families, and professional colleagues. Graduates of early childhood education and care programmes work in nurseries, children's centres, pre-schools, reception classes, and a range of other early years settings.
