BA Digital Marketing and Food & Nutritional Sciences
About this course
Digital marketing and food and nutritional sciences is an unusual but coherent combination, bringing together the skills needed to promote products and engage audiences in the digital world with a deep understanding of one of the most fundamental and fast-changing sectors of the global economy. Digital marketing is one of the most dynamic fields in business today, encompassing social media, search engine optimisation, content marketing, data analytics, and the full range of online channels through which modern organisations reach and influence their audiences. Food and nutritional sciences provides the scientific and commercial understanding of the food industry, including food composition, consumer behaviour, food law, and the growing intersection of nutrition science with health and wellness communication. At Liverpool Hope University this three-year full-time programme combines rigorous academic study in both areas, ensuring that your digital marketing training is both theoretically grounded and relevant to real-world practice, while your food and nutrition studies develop the scientific and commercial understanding that the food sector demands. A sandwich year and a year abroad are incorporated into the degree, and a work placement is built in, giving you substantial professional experience and an international perspective before you complete your studies. Graduates from this combination are particularly well placed for careers in the food, health, and wellness industries, where the ability to understand and communicate the nutritional and scientific dimensions of food products through digital channels is increasingly valued. Roles in food marketing, health communications, social media management in food and nutrition organisations, and digital content creation for health brands are all directions this degree opens up. The broader digital marketing skills also transfer to many other sectors. Many graduates continue to postgraduate study in marketing, nutrition, food science, or public health.
