Construction project management is the discipline that oversees the full lifecycle of built environment projects, from initial design and planning through procurement and construction to final handover. Construction projects are among the most complex undertakings in the modern economy, requiring the coordination of multiple contractors, consultants, and stakeholders, the management of tight budgets and programmes, compliance with extensive safety and regulatory requirements, and the ability to communicate clearly with clients who may have limited construction knowledge. Construction project managers sit at the centre of this complexity, taking responsibility for ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality.
