BSc Business Management with Entrepreneurship and Innovation
About this course
Business management with entrepreneurship and innovation is a degree for people who are interested not just in how existing organisations are managed but in how new ones are created and how innovation happens within and beyond established businesses. Entrepreneurship is not simply a matter of starting a company: it is a set of attitudes and capabilities, including the ability to identify opportunities, manage uncertainty, build teams, secure resources and iterate rapidly in response to feedback, that are increasingly valued across all kinds of organisations, from startups to large corporations and public sector bodies. At the University of Surrey, the three-year full-time programme develops your core management knowledge in strategy, finance, marketing, operations and organisational behaviour alongside specialist content in entrepreneurship, new venture development, innovation management, design thinking and business model design. Surrey integrates digital skills and AI literacy across its programmes, building the capabilities that employers and entrepreneurs increasingly need. You will develop both the analytical skills to understand how businesses work and the creative and entrepreneurial mindset to imagine how they might work differently. Surrey's location in the south-east of England, within the UK's leading technology and innovation corridor, gives access to a concentration of startups, scaleups and innovative companies that enriches the professional context of the degree. The university's enterprise support activities provide opportunities to develop your own ventures alongside your studies. Graduates of entrepreneurship and management degrees launch their own businesses, join early-stage ventures, enter innovation and strategy roles in established organisations, work in consultancy, and pursue careers in the technology sector, social enterprise and the creative industries. Postgraduate study in entrepreneurship, innovation management or business administration is a natural continuation.
