BA Business Management
About this course
Business management is the study of how organisations plan, coordinate and adapt to achieve their goals in competitive and changing environments. It brings together economics, finance, marketing, operations, strategy, organisational behaviour and leadership, giving you both a comprehensive view of how businesses work and the analytical skills to contribute to decisions at every level. The discipline is relevant across all sectors and all kinds of organisations, from private companies and start-ups to public bodies and charities. At the University of Hull, this three-year full-time programme is delivered by a business school with AMBA and AACSB accreditation, professional standards held by a small proportion of business schools globally. This means the programme meets internationally recognised quality standards, which is reflected in the curriculum and in the rigour of the learning experience. You will study strategy, marketing, accounting, human resource management, operations and leadership, developing the ability to analyse business situations from multiple perspectives and to make reasoned, well-evidenced recommendations. Quantitative and qualitative analytical skills are both developed, and throughout the programme you will work on case studies and applied projects that connect theory to real business challenges. Graduates go into careers in management, finance, marketing, human resources, operations, logistics, consultancy and entrepreneurship across a wide range of sectors. Business management is one of the most broadly applicable degrees, and the combination of business knowledge and transferable analytical and communication skills is valued by employers in virtually every industry. Further study in business, management, finance, marketing or a specialist field is a common option for those who want to develop deeper expertise or pursue management roles more quickly.
