BA Business Management and Law (With Foundation Year)
About this course
Business management and law is a combination that prepares you for the complex reality of professional life in organisations that must navigate both commercial pressures and legal frameworks. Business management develops the capacity to understand how organisations function, from marketing and strategy to operations and human resources, while law provides the formal knowledge of the rules and principles through which business activities are governed, disputes are resolved, and rights and obligations are defined. Together, the two disciplines produce graduates who can think commercially and legally simultaneously, a combination that is increasingly sought after. At Liverpool Hope this four-year full-time programme includes a foundation year providing a supported entry route before advancing to the main degree. The business component examines small to medium-sized enterprises alongside global multinational companies across public, private, and not-for-profit sectors, exploring the business principles, organisational dynamics, and management processes that shape commercial life. The law component covers the legal frameworks relevant to business, including contract, employment law, company law, and regulatory requirements. The programme includes a sandwich year, a year abroad, and work placement opportunities, connecting your academic learning to professional practice in relevant business and legal settings. Graduates go on to careers in business management, legal practice, compliance, corporate governance, human resources, consultancy, and a wide range of roles where both commercial and legal knowledge are valued. The combination is particularly useful for careers in corporate law, business regulation, contract management, and international trade. Many graduates also continue to postgraduate study in law, business, or a related discipline, and some pursue the Legal Practice Course or Bar Practice Course to qualify for legal practice.
