BA Business and Management
About this course
Business and Management is the study of how organisations are created, led, and developed, encompassing the full range of functions and decisions that shape commercial and institutional life. From strategy and marketing to finance, operations, human resources, and leadership, business and management education equips you with the analytical tools and practical understanding to contribute to organisations of all kinds and at all levels. It is a degree that rewards both the student who wants to understand how businesses work from the inside and the future entrepreneur or leader who wants to develop their own capacity to build and manage organisations. At Leeds Beckett University, this part-time programme acknowledges that business is not just about spreadsheets and board meetings: it is the ideas and decisions that define the brands, products, and services people interact with every day. You will explore how organisations are built, grown, and navigate change in a fast-moving, unpredictable world, engaging with strategy, organisational behaviour, marketing, finance, and the broader economic and social contexts in which businesses operate. A sandwich year, year abroad, and work placement are all available, giving you the opportunity to gain professional and international experience alongside your academic studies. Graduates of Business and Management programmes are in broad and sustained demand across every sector and industry. Graduate roles span marketing, finance, operations, human resources, project management, consulting, and general management. Many graduates also use the degree as a foundation for further professional qualification in areas such as accountancy, marketing, or human resources. Others pursue postgraduate study in business, management, or a specialist field such as international business or data analytics. The breadth of the degree means that career flexibility is one of its defining strengths.
