About this course
Biology is the science of life in all its forms, from the molecular machinery of cells to the ecological networks that sustain entire biomes. It asks how living organisms are built, how they function, how they evolved, and how they interact with each other and with their environments. The discipline ranges from the study of individual genes and proteins to the dynamics of populations and ecosystems, and it underpins medicine, agriculture, conservation, biotechnology, and environmental policy. At the University of Hull, you will study biology across this full range over three years full-time, developing both laboratory and fieldwork skills alongside the conceptual and analytical understanding that the subject requires.
