About The Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts

The Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA) is a specialist conservatoire based in the renovated Liverpool Institute building in the city centre, co-founded by Sir Paul McCartney. It focuses on training performers and those who make performance possible.

LIPA offers degrees in acting, dance, music, sound technology, management, and theatre and performance design. The institute has a strong industry orientation, with visiting professionals and a busy performance programme. Liverpool's outstanding musical heritage and vibrant arts scene provide an inspiring backdrop, and LIPA's alumni work across the entertainment industry internationally.
