The role
What a stockbroker actually does, day to day.
As a stockbroker, you buy and sell shares for your clients - usually people or organizations with money to invest. You study the markets carefully to spot good opportunities and advise your clients on what to buy or sell. You work in a fast-paced environment where prices change quickly and you need to make quick, smart decisions.
Your day starts early, reviewing what happened in the markets overnight. You spend time analysing companies and looking at global news that might affect share prices. You also talk to clients a lot, understanding what they want to achieve with their money and making sure they feel confident about the advice you give them. You need to be very precise when you execute trades, and you work under pressure to get good results for your clients.
