Production and Process Engineer

AI

Production and process engineers work in factories and workshops to make sure things are made well and quickly. They find ways to make the process faster and cheaper, spot problems, and help factories run smoothly.

The role

What a production and process engineer actually does, day to day.

As a production and process engineer, you look at how things are made and work out how to do it better. You'll watch production lines, find where things slow down or go wrong, and think up solutions. You'll also check that everything meets the right standards and quality.

You'll spend time both at your desk looking at data and on the factory floor talking to the people who make things. You work with different teams - production, quality, engineers - to solve problems and make improvements. It's problem-solving work that needs a mix of thinking and practical skills.
