About this course

Mathematical sciences is a broad field encompassing pure mathematics, applied mathematics, statistics, and the interfaces between them, offering a rigorous education in one of the most powerful and versatile intellectual disciplines humans have developed. Mathematics underpins the physical sciences, engineering, economics, computing, and increasingly the life sciences, yet also has a rich internal life of abstract structures and proofs that rewards study for its own sake. At the University of Liverpool, this four-year full-time programme includes a year abroad, giving you the opportunity to experience different mathematical traditions and academic environments at an international partner institution.
