Politics, international studies and German is a degree that equips you to understand how power is exercised and contested both within states and across the international system, while also developing the linguistic and cultural competence to engage with a major European country and its intellectual traditions. Politics and international relations give you the theoretical and analytical tools to examine government, democracy, foreign policy, security, international organisations and global challenges. German, one of the most widely spoken languages in Europe and the language of one of the world's largest economies, adds a practical and cultural dimension that makes the combination particularly relevant for anyone interested in European affairs. At the University of Warwick this four-year full-time programme develops and deepens your German language skills while you study politics at both national and international levels through a culturally sensitive lens. You will build skills in theoretical analysis, qualitative and quantitative research, and written and oral communication.
