Modern history examines the forces that have made the world we inhabit: the revolutions, conflicts, social transformations, technological changes, and political ideas that have shaped the last few centuries. It is a discipline that demands close engagement with evidence, critical thinking about causation and consequence, and the ability to construct clear, well-supported arguments from primary and secondary sources.
