Law is the framework through which societies define rights and obligations, resolve disputes, and regulate the exercise of power by individuals, organisations, and states. Studying law develops one of the most rigorous and transferable intellectual skill sets available: the ability to read statutory and judicial texts with precision, to identify the legally relevant facts in complex situations, to construct well-reasoned arguments, and to evaluate competing interpretations of rules and principles. These skills are valued not only in legal practice but across the full range of professions where reasoning clearly about rules and consequences matters. The accelerated law programme at the University of Law in London is designed for students who wish to complete a qualifying law degree in two years of intensive full-time study rather than the standard three. The programme covers all the foundational areas of English law required for a qualifying law degree, including contract law, alongside the other core subjects. You will explore the elements of contracts, different types of contractual terms, remedies for breach, and the circumstances in which remedies can be excluded, as well as connected areas such as misrepresentation, duress, and undue influence. This gives you a sense of the careful, analytical approach that the programme applies to each area of law. The accelerated format means the pace is demanding, but the programme is designed for students who are motivated, organised, and ready to engage intensively with legal material. Graduates from the accelerated programme proceed to the same vocational training routes as standard law graduates, qualifying as solicitors or barristers through the relevant professional training programmes. The qualification carries full legal standing. Many graduates go on to training contracts at law firms of all sizes or to the bar.
