About this course

Interior architecture and design is concerned with the transformation of interior spaces, creating environments that are not only visually compelling but functionally effective and appropriate for the people who use them. Unlike interior decoration, which focuses on surface aesthetics, interior architecture and design engages with the spatial and structural dimensions of a building, considering how volume, light, material, and circulation work together to produce spaces that serve their occupants well. At Sheffield Hallam University, this part-time programme includes a foundation year and a sandwich placement year, making it both accessible and professionally grounded.
