BA Fashion Public Relations and Communication
About this course
Fashion Public Relations and Communication is a specialist discipline at the intersection of fashion, media, and strategic communication, concerned with how fashion brands build their public presence, manage their reputation, and communicate their identity to consumers, press and industry professionals. It is a field that combines creative instinct with strategic thinking, requiring practitioners who understand both the aesthetic world of fashion and the mechanics of media, digital platforms, influencer culture, and the competitive global fashion marketplace. At London College of Fashion, part of the University of the Arts London and one of the world's leading fashion education institutions, this three-year full-time programme develops your expertise across public relations strategy, fashion journalism and communication, digital media, brand storytelling, and the production of communications materials for fashion contexts. You will develop the practical skills of PR and communications alongside a critical understanding of the fashion industry, its history, its ethical challenges, and its global reach. The programme includes a sandwich year and work placement, giving you extended professional experience in the industry before you graduate. LCF's London location places you at the centre of the UK fashion industry, with direct access to the press, agencies, brands, and events that define it. Graduates of Fashion PR and Communication programmes work in fashion PR agencies, in-house communications teams at fashion brands, fashion journalism, digital content and social media strategy, event management, and brand consultancy. The skills developed transfer across the creative industries more broadly, and many graduates move into roles in luxury goods, retail, and the media. Further study in communications, fashion management, or journalism is available for those who want to specialise or develop their academic understanding further.
