Fashion is one of the world's most significant cultural and commercial industries, encompassing design, production, retail, media, and the complex social dynamics of how clothing functions as identity, aspiration, and communication. It is an industry in constant flux, responding to cultural shifts, consumer behaviour, sustainability pressures, and the rapid changes in how products are made and distributed. A fashion degree develops both the creative skills to design and make in a highly competitive environment and the critical awareness to understand the industry in which you are working. At Coventry University, this three-year, full-time programme is hands-on and practice-centred, equipping you with the skills to thrive in the fast-paced world of contemporary fashion. You will work across design, making, and creative development, developing your own aesthetic voice and technical competence in garment construction, textile development, and fashion communication. A sandwich year is built into the programme, giving you a full year of professional experience in the fashion industry before you complete your degree. A year abroad option and work placement opportunities are also available, broadening your exposure to different fashion cultures and production contexts.
