Environmental management is concerned with understanding and responding to the environmental pressures that human activities create, developing the skills and knowledge needed to help organisations, communities, and governments reduce their impact on natural systems and manage resources more sustainably. It is a discipline that draws on ecology, earth science, economics, law, and social science to produce graduates who can think across disciplinary boundaries and engage with the full complexity of real environmental problems.
