BA Entrepreneurship and Marketing
About this course
Entrepreneurship and marketing is a combination designed for people who want to not just understand business but build it. Entrepreneurship is the process of identifying opportunities, taking calculated risks, and creating ventures that bring new products, services, or solutions into the world. Marketing asks how those offerings can best reach their intended audiences, developing the brand, communication, and customer insight capabilities that make new ventures sustainable. Together, they equip you with the thinking and tools to both start and sustain commercial activity. At the University of Derby, this three-year full-time programme offers a leading-edge, vocationally relevant entrepreneurship curriculum that reflects the complex nature of contemporary business, combined with a solid grounding in different forms of marketing that will help you kickstart an exciting career. You will study venture creation, business model design, marketing strategy, digital marketing, consumer psychology, and brand management, developing both the practical skills and the entrepreneurial mindset that the programme is designed to nurture. The programme includes an integrated foundation year, a sandwich year with a year abroad and work placement, giving you progressive stages of academic preparation and professional exposure before you graduate. Entry typically requires around 32 UCAS tariff points. Graduates go on to found their own businesses, work in start-up ecosystems, join marketing and communications agencies, take on roles in product development and brand management, or apply their commercial skills in larger organisations across every sector. The combination of entrepreneurial thinking with marketing knowledge is increasingly valued in a business world that rewards creativity, agility, and commercial clarity.
