BSc Economics and Management
About this course
Economics and management is a combination that addresses two of the most important questions in professional life: how do markets and economic systems work, and how do organisations operate within them? Economics provides the analytical tools to understand incentives, market structures, resource allocation, and the macroeconomic environment that shapes business conditions. Management brings a complementary set of frameworks for understanding how organisations are led, how decisions are made under uncertainty, and how human, financial, and other resources are coordinated to achieve goals. Together they produce graduates who are analytically rigorous and practically aware. At the University of Warwick this three-year full-time BSc is taught at one of the UK's leading research universities and provides a perfect blend of two interrelated disciplines that enhance and complement each other. You will study economic theory at both micro and macro level alongside core management content covering strategy, organisational behaviour, finance, operations, and leadership. The course includes a sandwich placement year and a work placement component, giving you structured professional experience in business, finance, or consultancy settings before you graduate. The typical entry tariff of 200 points reflects the demanding entry standard at Warwick. You will develop strong analytical skills, quantitative reasoning, and the practical management capabilities needed to work in complex organisational environments. The Warwick reputation and the depth of the academic programme together provide a strong platform for competitive graduate careers. Graduates go on to work in consultancy, finance, investment banking, the civil service, international management, policy analysis, and commercial strategy. The degree is also excellent preparation for postgraduate study in economics, business, or finance, and many graduates enter competitive graduate training programmes in the City, in consultancy, or in government.
