Computer games programming is the technical discipline that brings interactive digital worlds to life. While game design imagines what a game could be, and art gives it visual form, programming is what makes it run: managing input and output, simulating physics and AI, rendering graphics in real time, and synchronising all the systems that make a game a coherent, responsive experience. Games programmers work at the boundary of computer science and creative production, applying sophisticated technical knowledge in service of entertainment and increasingly in other interactive applications. At the University of Gloucestershire, this three-year full-time programme develops your programming skills within the specific context of games development.
