Chemistry studied through an industrial route is designed for students who want to combine the rigour of an academic chemistry education with a clear orientation toward professional practice in the chemical and related industries. Chemistry itself encompasses the study of matter, its properties and the reactions through which one substance is transformed into another, spanning organic, inorganic and physical chemistry and the analytical techniques used to characterise compounds and processes. The industrial route brings an additional focus on how chemical knowledge is applied in real manufacturing, research and development contexts.
