BSc Business Management with Business Analytics
About this course
Business management and business analytics are increasingly inseparable. The ability to lead and coordinate an organisation matters more when it is grounded in evidence, and the capacity to read data clearly is more valuable when it is connected to the commercial and human realities of how organisations work. Combining the two disciplines at degree level prepares you to be a more effective manager and a more commercially rounded analyst. At the University of Surrey this three-year, full-time programme covers the foundations of business management, including strategy, operations, marketing, finance, and organisational behaviour, while also developing your analytical skills in data interpretation, quantitative methods, and the business applications of technology. The programme is designed with an eye on the future of work, integrating digital tools and AI literacy throughout the curriculum so that the skills you graduate with are aligned with what employers in tomorrow's workplace will value. You will develop both the conceptual thinking required to understand complex organisations and the technical confidence to work with the data that informs business decisions. Graduates with this combination are well positioned for careers across a broad range of organisations and sectors. Many enter management training programmes, consulting, or analytical roles in finance, technology, retail, logistics, and the public sector. The business analytics component opens specific paths in data analysis, business intelligence, and performance management, while the management foundations make you effective in roles that require coordinating people, projects, and resources. Some graduates move into entrepreneurship, applying their combined skills to building or scaling their own ventures. Further study in business administration, data analytics, management science, or a specialist area of business is also a well-established route for those who want to develop deeper expertise.
