BA Business Management
About this course
Business management is the study of how organisations are created, run and developed in a world of constant change, competition and digital transformation. It encompasses the core disciplines that shape organisational life, including strategy, finance, marketing, operations, people management and entrepreneurship, and develops the analytical, communicative and leadership capabilities that employers value across every sector of the economy. At the University of Suffolk, this three-year programme is co-designed with industry professionals, as the university describes, and is structured to equip graduates with the skills and confidence to thrive in the digital economy. You will study strategic management, digital business, marketing, financial management, organisational behaviour, entrepreneurship and the tools of data-driven decision-making, building both the conceptual frameworks and the practical capabilities that modern business careers require. The programme includes a sandwich year, a year abroad and work placement opportunities, providing multiple structured routes to develop professional experience and an international dimension alongside your academic study. Suffolk's strong connections with the regional business community and its commitment to practical, applied learning mean the degree is grounded in real commercial contexts rather than purely abstract theory. The digital economy emphasis reflects a recognition that business management graduates in the current environment need to understand not only traditional management disciplines but also how digital technology, data analytics and platform business models are transforming commercial practice across all sectors. Graduates go on to careers in management, consulting, digital business, marketing, finance, operations, human resources, entrepreneurship and business development across private, public and third-sector organisations. Further study in business administration, management or a specialist digital or commercial field is also a common route.
