About this course

Business management, entrepreneurship, and innovation is a degree for those who want to shape ideas, lead change, and make things happen. The disciplines address a central question in contemporary economic and social life: how do individuals and organisations identify opportunities, create value, and build ventures that respond to real needs? Whether you are interested in starting a business, driving innovation within an established organisation, or developing solutions to social or environmental challenges, this combination provides the intellectual and practical foundation to pursue all of these ambitions. At the University of Salford, this three-year programme develops your understanding of how entrepreneurs think and act, how organisations manage innovation, and how strategic and creative thinking combine to produce ventures that work in practice. You will study the structures and dynamics of businesses and markets, the processes through which new ideas are developed and tested, and the financial, organisational, and leadership skills that successful ventures require. The programme builds confidence, creativity, and the strategic thinking that allow you to pursue change whether inside an existing organisation or from scratch. Graduates go on to work in management, business development, innovation roles within organisations, consultancy, social enterprise, and entrepreneurial ventures of their own. The skills the degree develops, including creative problem-solving, strategic analysis, and the ability to identify and respond to opportunity, are valued across a very wide range of sectors and contexts. Many graduates join the management trainee schemes of large organisations, while others go directly into startups or launch their own ventures. Further study at postgraduate level, including an MBA or specialist innovation or entrepreneurship master's degree, provides a route to deeper expertise.
