The world of finance is rapidly changing, with new innovative financial products being developed on a constant basis. At Birmingham City University, this part-time programme develops your understanding of corporate finance, financial management, management accounting, investment analysis, financial markets, and the quantitative and analytical skills that financial roles require. The part-time mode allows you to study alongside existing work or other commitments, integrating academic learning with professional experience in ways that many finance employers value. A sandwich year and work placement are part of the programme, giving you direct experience in a financial or business organisation and the opportunity to apply your skills in a professional setting before graduation. Graduates pursue careers in financial management, corporate treasury, accounting, banking, investment analysis, financial planning, insurance, management consultancy, and the finance functions of organisations across every sector. The combination of financial knowledge and practical business understanding the degree develops is valued wherever organisations need people who can manage resources intelligently and make evidence-based financial decisions. Many graduates also continue to professional qualifications in accounting or finance through bodies such as CIMA, ACCA, or ICAEW, or postgraduate study in finance, business, or accounting.
