About this course
Animation at the University of the West of England, Bristol is a three-year programme that develops your creative voice and technical skills across the broad range of practices that contemporary animation encompasses, from drawn and painted forms to 3D computer-generated animation and experimental moving-image work. You will develop your skills in drawing, storytelling, character design and visual development alongside the technical training in software and production processes that professional practice requires. Film and television animation, games, advertising, digital content production, motion graphics, interactive media and illustration are all common destinations. Bristol's strong creative industry connections mean graduates are well networked on leaving. Some establish independent studios or develop personal projects alongside freelance commercial work. Others move into related areas of the creative and technology sectors, applying their visual storytelling and technical skills in new contexts.
